Our Johannesburg team successfully completed a groundbreaking solar installation for Emira Property Fund at their Knightsbridge property. This project marks a significant milestone in South Africa’s commercial real estate sector, enabling Emira to become the first SA REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) to receive an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The 270 kW system, while familiar in size to our experienced team, carries exceptional importance due to its role in advancing sustainable building practices.
The solar system installation was meticulously designed and executed to play a pivotal role in Emira’s pursuit of Net-Zero accreditation from the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA). Our team worked closely with Emira to ensure the system not only met their energy needs but also aligned with the stringent requirements for this prestigious certification.
This project serves as a beacon for property owners and tenants who prioritize sustainability reporting. It demonstrates how commercial properties can achieve independently verified net-zero energy status, setting a new standard in the industry.
