Recognizing the critical role of reliable power in modern dairy farming, Rory sought a partner who could understand and meet the unique energy needs of his industry. Our team’s deep expertise in agricultural energy solutions positioned us as the ideal collaborator to bring Rory’s vision of a grid-independent farm to life.

Scope of Project

Our comprehensive approach to Bryden Farm’s energy transformation encompassed several key phases:

  1. Initial Assessment: We conducted a thorough analysis of the farm’s energy consumption patterns, focusing on the specific requirements of dairy operations.
  2. Custom Micro-grid Design: Leveraging our industry knowledge, we designed a bespoke micro-grid solution tailored to the farm’s unique needs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  3. Phased Implementation: The project was executed in stages, allowing for minimal disruption to daily farm operations. This included:
    • Installation of a 220kW solar PV system
    • Integration of a 700kWh battery energy storage system (BESS)
    • Implementation of smart energy management systems
  4. Project Management: Our team oversaw all aspects of the project, coordinating with various subcontractors and managing interactions with Eskom to ensure seamless grid integration.
